Vodafone are in the process of making an appeal to the Secretary of State in respect of the site at Hall's.

The appeal is against the Council's refusal to grant permission. It is important to note that letters of notification of the appeal, was received by local residents, 17 days after the appeal start date, which was the 21st Oct 2008.

We will inform you here, by email and through all the usual local channels on the status of this appeal, and of what we need to do.

 

Why we raised the petition in 2007?

On 23rd May 2007 a limited number of local residents were written to by the planning consultancy Patrick Farfan Associates Ltd, acting on behalf of Vodafone Ltd. To the surprise of many recipients year long discussions with the City Council became evident concerning the relocation of a significant mobile telephone Base Station to the heart of Nether Edge. Of twenty potential sites it appears that Henry Hall on Union Road has been selected.

Then the Battlements in 2008!

Then we faced a second attempt by Vodafone to impose an architecturally poor scheme. The issues of principle which drew so much local interest remained relevant to the second application
