VODAFONE'S APPEAL REFUSED!

Vodafone made an appeal to the Secretary of State in respect of the site at Hall's. The appeal was against the Council's refusal to grant permission.

A massive thank you to all in Nether Edge who voiced their opinions
on this issue. We could not have achieved this result without you.

Developments and changes like this will go
ahead in our community, unless challenged by you.

Had Nether Edge not been a designated conservation area,
this would probably have gone ahead owed to the fact that we
were unable to base our objections on health grounds.

We have information to suggest that the current occupiers of Hall's,
will be relocating to a new site off Sheffield Parkway.
Lets hope that this time they get what they want.

Please remain vigilant.

Why we raised the petition in 2007?

On 23rd May 2007 a limited number of local residents were written to by the planning consultancy Patrick Farfan Associates Ltd, acting on behalf of Vodafone Ltd. To the surprise of many recipients year long discussions with the City Council became evident concerning the relocation of a significant mobile telephone Base Station to the heart of Nether Edge. Of twenty potential sites it appears that Henry Hall on Union Road has been selected.

Then the Battlements in 2008!

Then we faced a second attempt by Vodafone to impose an architecturally poor scheme. The issues of principle which drew so much local interest remained relevant to the second application

Thank you very much for your time and support.
